Parmesan and Herb Puffs

Parmesan and Herb Puffs
Delicious pastry puffs brushed with egg, sprinkled with basil, and topped with Parmesan cheese. These are quick and easy to prepare, make a fantastic savory snack, and go well in lunch boxes.

This recipe uses egg, but for little ones with egg allergies you can simply brush the pastry with melted butter instead.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method

Preheat oven to 220 C (430 F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Lay two sheets of puff pastry on a clean, flat surface and use a brush or spatula to coat with whisked egg.

Sprinkle basil evenly over the egg.

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

Cut into squares about 2cm x 2cm

Place all the little squares onto prepared baking tray, evenly spaced.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until puffed and golden.

Hi Louise, you can freeze them raw or cooked, if you are freezing the cooked ones then I recommend reheating them in the oven (rather than microwave) to crisp them up again.
