Garlic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Garlic Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Take your grilled cheese sandwiches to the next level by using a simple garlic butter to coat the bread before cooking. The garlic butter is easy to make and then the grilled cheese sandwich is as easy as... well, grilled cheese!

There's so much you can do to improve a basic toasted cheese sandwich, and this has definitely got to be one of my all time faves.

This recipe will make 3 sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened but not melted)
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 6 slices of tasty cheddar cheese

Method

Finely chop/mince the garlic.

Place softened butter into a cup and add the garlic.

Use a knife to mix the garlic through the butter.

Butter six pieces of bread with the garlic butter.

Place three pieces of bread, butter side down, into your sandwich press (or if it only has room for two, do two of them now and then the other one after they're cooked).

Place two slices of cheese on each piece of bread in the sandwich press.

Place the other slices of bread, butter side up, on top of each one.

Close the sandwich press and cook for a few minutes until they have turned a light golden brown.

Be careful not to overcook as the garlic may burn.

Let them sit and cool for a few minutes before serving as the cheese inside will be piping hot.
