Fruit and Nut Snack Balls

Fruit and Nut Snack Balls
These simple fruit and nut snack balls are easy to make and packed with nutrition! This healthy toddler snack is a good one for lunchboxes or for while you are out and about.

Just four basic ingredients go into these - sultanas, almonds, dates and goji berries. All you need is a food processor and a couple of spare minutes and you're good to go!

Ingredients

  • 12 dates, pitted
  • 1 cup almonds, raw
  • 1/4 cup sultanas
  • 1 tbsp dried goji berries

Method

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and turn it on to a high setting.

It will take a couple of minutes to chop it all down - keep at it until all the fruit has turned to mush and the nuts are chopped finely.

Remove from food processor.

Take spoonfuls and squish the mixture together firmly, then form into balls.

Store them in an airtight container for up to a week (or a little longer if stored in the fridge)

DID YOU KNOW...

  • Sultanas are a fantastic way of sweetening recipes without adding refined sugar, and toddlers love to snack on them. However, please be aware that they are extremely high in sugar and can cause tooth decay. Their sticky texture causes them to stick in your child's teeth and cause damage until their teeth are cleaned properly. Try not to offer your toddler dried fruits too often, and make sure you clean their teeth regularly.
