Healthy Baked Beans
You will probably never want to eat canned baked beans again after you try making your own at home.

This recipe is very simple, toddler friendly, and you can easily add in any extra vegetables you like.


  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, finely diced
  • 1 400g tin cannellini beans (or navy beans)
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/4 cups passata (tomato puree)
  • 1/4 cup water


Strain liquid from beans and rinse under cold water.

Heat a little butter or olive oil in a frying pan on low - medium heat.

Fry onions for a few minutes, then add carrot and garlic and fry until cooked (about 3-5 minutes)

Add apple cider vinegar and cook for about a minute.

Add beans, tomato puree and water. Stir to combine.

Simmer for another 5 - 10 minutes, until sauce has reduced and beans are tender.
