Banana Biscuits for Babies and Toddlers

Banana Biscuits for Babies and Toddlers
This easy, dairy-free biscuit recipe uses just three ingredients to make a simple, soft, tasty banana biscuit - perfect for babies and toddlers!

You can add in a dash of extra flavour if you like using things like cinnamon, vanilla extract, etc, but I find that well ripened bananas give these banana biscuits plenty of flavour all on their own.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup banana puree (I used two small, very ripe bananas)
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • 1 cup plain flour

Method

Preheat oven to 200 C (390 F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Puree the banana. I used two small bananas and got 1/2 cup of puree.

Whisk banana and egg together in a mixing bowl.

Add flour and mix until a smooth dough forms.

Lightly flour a clean surface and a rolling pin, and roll the dough out to about 1/2 cm thick.

Use cookie cutters to cut out round cookies. My cookie cutter was about 6cm across.

Re-roll the extra dough out again and continue cutting out cookies until you have used up all the dough.

Place cookies on prepared baking tray, evenly spaced.

Bake for approximately 10 mins, or until they are just starting to turn golden brown.

Makes about 12.

DID YOU KNOW...

  • Bananas are a fantastic ingredient in toddler cooking, as they are a healthy way of sweetening any recipe without adding refined sugar. Mashed banana can also be used in place of butter or oil to keep cakes and muffins moist.

How many days can it be in the fridge? And can you mention more in the recipes if you can freeze too. Thanks for doing this site. I have a toddler and its helpful!
